Hello my lovelies!
I do hope you all are well. I personally have had quite a crazy couple of months. Nonetheless, I wanted to take the time to work on my blog. As I’m sure you’re all very aware, Christmas is just around the corner! And if you’re anything like me, who is crazy about Christmas, I’m sure you have all of your favorite Christmas hang out locations. That’s why today, I thought I would share my favorite NYC hotspots for all things Christmas-related and give you all an insight into what Christmas in New York is really like.
One of my favorite things to do in the Holidays is go to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! Radio City Music Hall, in and of itself, is a must-see all year ’round; but in the Holiday season, when the Christmas Spectacular is on, it is simply magical. With many Christmas carols, special appearances from Santa, and multiple incredible performances from the Rockettes, nothing is bound to put you more in the Christmas spirit! This year, my families decision to go was extremely spontaneous but nonetheless amazing. Going to this show is one of my all-time favorite Christmas activities and traditions with my family and I definitely recommend it to all who are traveling through NYC at Christmas time.
The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has always been so beautiful to me. And now that it is only a few blocks away, you can find me there ALL the time at Christmas! The atmosphere is kind of hectic and completely full of tourists but it is totally worth going. With the ice-rink, Christmas carols, and spectacular tree, it is totally evident as to why New Yorkers think of Rockefeller Center as the heart of Christmas in the city.
Just across from Rockefeller Center, is Saks 5th Avenue. Now, I love Sacks on any normal day, but Christmas is a whole other story. Saks’ Christmas displays have always been astounding! But this year, it is next level awesome. This year, they have an entire light and music display that is absolutely incredible. I honestly have no other words to describe it’s goodness other than it is simply magical. If you’re in NYC, make sure you see this years display – you won’t regret it.
I always love running into cute markets around the city. I never usually buy anything, but I always have so much fun getting some good food and wandering through them. So this year, when I saw the Christmas markets in Columbus Circle, I got very excited (they also have these types of markets in other parts of the city such as Union Square Park. However I have spent the most time at the ones at Columbus Circle.) These markets have everything you could possibly want: lots of Christmas decor, so much food, and cute bits and pieces that could easily be used as stocking stuffers.
If you haven’t already figured it out, I love to go exploring and find cute places to enjoy. That is why you always see me out and about. I may live in New York City now, but I totally still act like a tourist. I don’t think this city will ever lose it’s magic in my eyes. I spent so many years in Australia wishing to be in New York. And now that I’m here, and I have my whole life ahead of me in this beautiful city, I want nothing but to enjoy it. So, I wander. And I explore. And I find my own little corners in the city that are just as magical as the big attractions. In this post, I talked a lot about the bigger attractions. But as I continue to use this platform, you will begin to hear about the not-so-predictable hotspots of the city. Like the Donut Pub, The Morgan Library, Cafe Lalo, Rooftop Movies, City Kitchen, and so many more. That is why, my next favorite Christmas-sy location is all of those random streets you find yourself on that are completely decked out with decor. And the gorgeous little stores that are completely unique and beautiful in every way. There is nothing I love more than exploring this gorgeous city; and the fact that I can now share it with all of you is SO great.
Well there you have it folks! I do hope you enjoyed hearing about New York City at Christmas. Make sure to follow me on all my social media so that you can keep up to date with everything I’m doing and hear about all the craziness that occurs in my everyday life. Wishing you all a very happy and relaxing Christmas filled with joy! May the love, joy, and peace of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ be your reality not just in the Christmas season but throughout all of your days. Best Wishes!
