Hello, my lovelies! I do hope you are well and that you have had an amazing start to the New Year. I personally had a wonderful beginning to 2016 and I am beyond excited for the year ahead. Today, I am going to be talking to you about a subject that New Yorkers, along with many other Americans along the east cost, are currently finding themselves in the midst of… Snowstorms! For those of you who aren’t aware, there is currently a huge snowstorm hovering over the East Coast (it has a name and everything). This blizzard, is my second official one in New York. However, despite this being my second actual blizzard, I have experienced many more crazy snow days and snow shenanigans that have been equally as hectic. Therefore, I thought that today, I would share what I like to do when I’m stuck inside during a snowstorm, and my tips to have the best #snowstormjonas experience ever!

Stock up on snacks.

There is nothing worse than being stuck at home with no food. And while Seamless is altogether amazing, it can be a bit of a pain having to constantly order food. Therefore, if you can, go to the grocery store the night before and stock up on all the snacks you would possibly need. After all, you really don’t know how long this blizzard will last for ;).

Have a movie marathon.

Snow days are always so amazing because firstly, you’ve already done your homework the night before so you don’t need to think about it. And secondly, you have an awesome excuse to stay in all day and hang out with your family. So while you’re snuggled up on the couch with your fam, pick out some of your favorite family movies, gather the snacks you bought the night before, and enjoy a day full of good movies and good company.

Find a new show to watch on Netflix.

This one kind of goes along with the movie marathon idea, but finding a new show on Netflix is always great. Therefore, I suggest looking up some reviews, and trying out a new show. I have recently started “Making a Murderer” and boy, is it addicting! It’s the story of a man who went to prison for 18 years for a crime he didn’t do, and then is framed for a murder shortly afterwards. Extremely intense, but very intriguing. This series is definitely for mature audiences but is great for all who like murder mysteries.

Study for midterms.

I know, I know. Why on earth would I bring up such a treacherous subject? But honestly, if study is needed, and you don’t have any plans, I suggest you study for midterms. This snowstorm specifically, is  the perfect opportunity to do so with midterms coming up in just a few days. It’s not like it’s beautiful outside and all your friends are hanging out without you– they’re all stuck at home like you are! Because of this, I strongly urge you to do something productive: review your notes, go over your study guide, do a practice test, or just do whatever is needed. This is 100% what I’ll be doing  🙂

Take advantage of Seamless.

One of the major perks of living in New York City is that nothing ever fully shuts down. This includes delivery service. Therefore, if you’re truly stuck for food, or not able to cook, Seamless will be your best friend. For those non-New Yorkers who are a little confused right now, Seamless is an app that allows you to order food from your favorite restaurants and have it delivered to your door. Just be sure to tip the delivery man well. After all, he has just trekked through the snow to bring you your meal.

Go outside and enjoy the snow!

If you’re honestly bored out of your mind and completely stuck for what to do, layer up, and go out and enjoy the snow! But please only do this if it is safe. If it is not safe, do not go outside, you do not want to risk your safety. However, if the storm has settled down, or it is completely safe to be out, go out, appreciate it, take some cute pics, have a dance party, do whatever you want! It won’t be there forever.

So there you have it folks! Those are my tips for how to have the best #snowstormjonas experience ever, and how to prepare for any future storms we have coming up. Please remember to stay safe over the next few days. And to everyone who is taking exams this week, I’m praying that you will all have clarity of mind and the peace of the Lord within you. Wishing you all a safe and happy weekend!
