September is undeniably one of my favorite months. Not only is the weather perfect, but the atmosphere of the city is my favorite. With the number of tourists in town being at a low, the city is filled with locals getting back into their respective routines; and I simply love it. There is something within the process of moving on from the Summer that gets me so excited. I don’t know what it is that builds up so much anticipation within me, but accepting the reality of the hovering harvest brings me so much joy, in some sort of weird way.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that my love for the entire Fall season is huge. One of my favorite things about Fall altogether is the fashion. Staying true to my ways, I have been researching upcoming Fall trends for months now, and have seen too many to count. One ‘trend’ that has always seemed to make it into my Fall wardrobe though, is small maroon touches.

As someone who’s wardrobe consists of black, white, and denim exclusively, I love to bring color into my looks with accessories. Rebecca Minkoff just gave me this new maroon purse from her Fall ’16 collection to take to her show last week. (For those who don’t know, I attended Rebecca’s show last week, and was given the opportunity to interview her with Teen Vogue, and go behind the scenes of the entire event. I will be sharing my NYFW experience in the weeks to come.) I am obsessed with this bag. It adds a stylish Fall edge to even the most simple of outfits, but it is still so subtle and practical.

To make the bag a little more personal, I had it customized. At Rebecca’s after-party on Saturday, the artist who collaborated with her on some of her collection pieces came and was adding to people’s purchases with Rebecca. Of course, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have these incredible women customize my bag, but I still wanted the clean look of the bag itself. With this in mind, I decided to get “Design a Life I Love” written across the bottom of the bag. This mantra is the tagline for the company I work with, My Social Canvas, and is a constant reminder to myself to always be working towards my goals, and to continue creating a life I’m proud of.

I love Fall, fashion, personalization, Rebecca, and My Social Canvas so you can only imagine how thrilled I am to have found a way to intertwine all of those. My love for Summer is always with me, and although I am sad to see it go, I am soaking up the final days spent under the warmth of the sun for the season. I hope you all have had a great start to the school year, and get back into the swing of things easy enough!

Talk soon.
